Certified KNSB Schaaktrainer 3 and FIDE-Trainer with 15+ years of coaching experience and students in over 15 countries. Founded Amsterdam Chess Academy in 2014. His students include Dutch IM Eline Roebers, the first Dutch World Youth Champion.

Certified KNSB trainer who has also trained fellow KNSB trainers as a train-the-trainer instructor. Currently a substitute trainer at Chaturanga, and a member of Zukertort Amstelveen and Baarnse Schaakvereniging.

Independent chess school, Amsterdam-Zuid & IJburg
A chess school (not a club) focused solely on teaching beginners — mostly one-on-one instruction using the KNSB Stappenmethode. Once students reach a certain level, Keyserkids refers them directly to a club: Caïssa's youth department in Zuid, or De Volewijckers in Noord.
Looking for school-based chess? SGA (the regional federation) runs Schoolschaak, a primary-school chess programme reaching 14+ Amsterdam schools and feeding into the national NK Schoolschaak championship. It's federation-run, not something we list directly — see SGA's own page →
Group Training
Several Amsterdam chess clubs run their own youth and beginner training as part of membership — VAS, Caïssa, Amsterdam West and De Volewijckers all have a confirmed junior programme. Joining a club gets you regular training, practice games, and a community to keep improving with.
